George Hardwick vs. Lucas Clay: The Title Fight That’s Been a YEAR in the Making – Who Will Make History at CW 184?

Cage Warriors has just dropped a bombshell announcement for their upcoming CW 184: Unplugged event. Lightweight champion George Hardwick is set to defend his title against American powerhouse Lucas ‘Cassius’ Clay in a clash that’s been brewing for nearly a year!

Originally scheduled for CW 169 in March 2024, this highly anticipated five-round showdown will finally go down on Friday, March 14th. Hardwick (12-3), the Middlesbrough mauler, is coming off a dominant title defense against Christian Iorga in September 2024. With three successful title defenses under his belt, he’s now eyeing a record-breaking fourth win to cement his legacy as one of Cage Warriors’ all-time greats.

But standing in his way is the dangerous Lucas Clay (10-3). Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Clay is a submission specialist who made waves in the MMA world with his infamous buggy choke. With a 9-1 amateur record and a pro career boasting ten wins (four by submission), Clay is ready to shock the world and snatch the gold in his Cage Warriors debut.

“This is going to be an all-out war,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “Both fighters have everything to lose and everything to gain. Hardwick could make history, while Clay has the chance to become an overnight sensation. Don’t blink when that bell rings!”

Cage Warriors 184: Unplugged is an exclusive, invite-only event taking place the night before CW 185: Manchester. Fans worldwide can catch the action live on UFC Fight Pass and international broadcast partners. Will Hardwick continue his reign, or will Clay rise to the occasion? One thing’s for sure – this is a fight you won’t want to miss!
